If you are a Steam beta user watch out, the latest beta only ads partial support for the DS4 but completely breaks IM's ability to use it exclusively.

InputMapper 1.6.11 complete ground up rewrite is going smooth and actually better than I could have hoped. Expect to start seeing it and Dualshock 3 support shortly!

Hi Wobbles - I'd wrote last night about this issue, but I believe I found a fix (at least a temporary one): If you go to the root Steam folder you delete all the folders inside the "controller_base" folder. Close Steam, and then connect your DS4 to InputMapper it appears to remove the file that prevents exclusive mode.

Hope this helps everyone! - Brendan

Deleting "controller_base" folder is only a temporary fix until you try to pair your DS4 again and loose exclusive mode. I found another way, first close/exit Steam client and pair your DS4, then open Steam client.

For me, and by the video it would seem many, even completely closing the Steam client and re-pairing the DS4 (even restarting my PC entirely and disabling Steam from start up) did not work. Yet deleting the folders in the 'controller_base' folder has been a permanent fix for me, so long as I do not re-add the DS4 to the supported controllers in Steam.

Just a quick update on the IM rewrite progress since yesterday. I have successfully integrated Scarlet Crushes VB drivers as an output option as well as ViGEm! I am able to successfully and on the fly by changing an option inside the profile or switching profiles entirely able to accept input from Dualshock 4, Dualshock 3 and OUYA and output to 360 or Dualshock 4!!!!

Very exciting and cant wait to put together a demo vid once I work some kings out and test it a little more.

Still need to implement Macros and the profile options are empty with the exception of driver selector combo box, so still a ways to go, but having successful hardware communication in and out is definitely the biggest milestone.

Ohh, this also means the application will work with Sony's Playstation Remote Play

That has to have some side effects right?

Not that I have found, running InputMapper that is.

Seems that Steam updates the files to default i.e. without the DS4 config automatically and everything works perfectly! I wanted to share since this drove me bonkers, but I've tested some 15 games and no issues :)

Thought I might share, since I know it drove me mad! Everything runs just fine so long as IM is on.
