Audio Jack Potential

3 years 8 months ago #1 by Baaron
Clearly it would be impossible to use as com system for games, however, is it possible to make it recognizable (perhaps even toggable) as an external bluetooth playback devise? and maybe even as external bluetooth recording devise?

It could be very useful when streaming music from PC

As i understand, some games support for use of DS4 on PC, do those games have access to the audiojack etc.?

Unfortunately the audio jack is not usable under Windows. All it means for a game that "supports" the DS4 is that its button prompts are those of the Dualshock and not xbox or other.

i did some digging, these are quotes from some forum where people mentioned games with "full" (allegedly) DS4 support; is this really the full support or the basic bare bones support? people also mentioned some remote play which could provide the right drivers

"Mad Max"
"Witcher III"
"Arkham Knight PC release got one thing I was very pleasantly surprised about it was perfect native DS4 support. And apparently most if not all Ubisoft games do this too along with bunch of other games like Evil Within"
"Evil Within"

What do you mean by full or barebones... There are plenty of games that support the DS4 by properly mapping the controls and providing proper button prompts.

that would be an example of barebones - simply mapping
but people mentioned some games using the joysticks LED light, so maybe those games have access to audio drivers as well?

Its more the fault of MS than Sony. The hardware is what it is and more open OS's that allow more flexibility with hardware interaction and drivers :cough: linux :cough: are able to do this. Windows however, not so much.
