Windows 7 64bit hard locks when detecting DS4.

1 year 1 month ago #1 by thechristoph
I have a fresh, minty clean installation of Windows 7 home ultimate 64 bit.

When I launch input mapper and plug in my DS4, I get the happy message that the controller is loaded up, the light bar lights up, and all seems well. For a second.

Windows hard locks at this point. Only thing I can do is pull the plug. When I reboot, windows will no longer recognize the controller at all in that USB port. Even if I go to device manager and uninstall all HID devices, it will never notice the controller. (It does not appear as “wireless controller”). I have to plug it into a different port and the cycle continues. I’m running out of ports now so I’m hoping someone else has seen this problem.

The hard lock itself is usually a sign if an app like riva tuner or another on our list that is interfering, but the port issue has me confused.

Does it freeze with no inputmapper running?
