Long Press Command?

3 years 9 months ago #1 by Abdullah Alzahrani
Hello

Is it possible to make a long press command other than the normal press? so two commands for one button.

I also have a question about macros. When I create a new macro I get the trigger highlighted in green or red, so what's the different between them?

Thank you

Yes, you can split the press and release commands thus allowing multiple simultaneous key presses and or delays between.

Red means it must be false for macro to execute, green means it must be true to execute, and white means it is not evaluated.

I apologize that I didn't explain my point well. What I want is, for example, take a screenshot when I press the share button a normal press (short) and start recording my gameplay when I make a long press. So two commands not to be executed at the same time but rather make one or the other by short or long press.

Thanks again

I don't think it can be done. But I wish it could. What I would do is this... lets say screenshot is F9 and video recording is F10 (example)...

Under 'Trigger', select 'Share' and make sure it is green, then under 'Macro' select F9 and then select 'Wait for release' (at the top). Check it works in-game. If not then do it again but this time check the 'Use scancode' box in the 'macro' section at the bottom before you click on F9.
It should now work. If it is working then start a new Macro, then...

Under 'Trigger' select 'Share' and another button, lets say, Triangle, and make sure they are both green (this means they both have to be pressed in order for the macro to fire), then under 'Macro' select the 'Use scancode' box at the bottom then click F10 and then select 'Wait for release' (at the top).

So if all is working you will have to press 'Share' for a screenshot, and press 'Share' AND 'Triangle' for a video to start recording.
Hope this makes sense and helps. Good luck!

@Richard is correct, it is not possible in IM 1.5. But I do see it being possible in IM 2 once an advanced logic plugin is created used in combination with the stopwatch plugin.

Thank you. That's actually a good idea. However, I found a new problem with this configuration. When I press, for example, SHARE+TRIANGLE it starts recording + it executes the TRIANGLE command. In GTAV when I am in an airplane and wanting to start recording, If I press SHARE+TRIANGLE it will start recording AND jump out of the plane :D. Of course I can choose the least used button with SHARE instead of TRIANGLE but is there a way to disable TRIANGLE or any other button when pressed with SHARE?

Yes... You will have to assign a macro to the Triangle button instead of using the standard Triangle button controller function (as it is now).

For this you will have to Click the Triangle button and then click 'Unbound' at the bottom. Then go the the Macros Tab and create a new macro. make the 'Triangle' button GREEN and the 'Share' button RED under the Trigger section. Then in the Macro section, choose the 'Y' button from the controller tab. This should work as now it will only trigger the Y button when 'Share' is not pressed and should NOT trigger Y when Share IS pressed.

In my head this works but test it and let me know :)

Probably what I would do is use Share and Options button. OR Share and Touch-Pad Click. Just a thought though.
