You won't see anything in Xinput test if the controller is outputting keyboard presses and mouse movements. But you should see the key strokes in notepad and the mouse move on the desktop. Did you assign the profile to the controller?

From the drop down list next to the controller at the top of the app(don't do the virtual 360 controller, leave it default). You have an option of Auto Sense, then can choose an alternate default profile in settings. Then you can assign an app/game for each profile in the Auto Launch tab to switch to the profile when it launches.

Are you using a DS4 controller, that what this current version is designed for? 1.7 will offer the ability to map to a 360.

1.7 nightly doesn't have keyboard or mouse mapping or macro support yet. There was an older 1.7 alpha which had keyboard and mouse mapping, but is not compatible with the new ViGEm 360 drivers. I haven't been able to figure out how to get and install the older ones. here is the link to it if you want to give it a try.

Odd, link works for me, I'M using Google Chrome. I believe the install may come with the drivers, but since I have updated to try out the nightly builds I haven't been able to get that version to work(no controller).

I don't know for sure if that version does support a 360 as the drivers may dot have included it at that time. They are about a year old.
