Exclusive mode issues for the two weeks

3 years 3 months ago #1 by Phil
Hello guys , new to the forum here.
So I have been a user of input mapper for the past year and my appreciation for the application is without words. Anyway for the two weeks or so (or maybe since the last major windows 10 update) I have been receiving an error that I cannot run input mapper in exclusive mode (The error I get prompts me to close steam and other applications because they might interfere with it ps I have closed steam restarted both and to no avail). I wondering if anyone had any insight as to whether the latest windows update might have forced some background process or applications that might be causing this problem. Or just in general if there is a fix for this.

Thanks in advance

What build are you on now? I haven't run into any issues with any recent updates as of yet.

I am currently on windows 10 home version 1607 OS build-14388.0 I am trying to narrow down as to whether it is a windows related problem or since i have recently updated to an AMD Gpu if maybe it has to do with some of the software I have downloaded from them.

You are on the preview or beta build of windows, those are alwayse plagued with problems... Suggest you switch back to Windows Stable.

So I reset windows completely to try to resolve the issue. It worked initially then I updated my Amd drivers and it became an issue again. So I am not sure if it was the Amd drivers or if there was some windows update that occurred in the background. I will start by rolling back the Amd drivers and see if I the problem will be resolved. Unfortunately I cannot opt out of the preview build for some reason, it is only allowing me to stop the updates for 7 days (so thats a whole new headache to figure out).

Alright so situation resolved I rolled back to windows 8.1 then used the free upgrade to windows 10 (non insider or preview edition) also when I updated the amd drivers I only installed the bare minimum needed for the update. The issue seems to be resolved. Thanks wobbles for the quick response, now back to some seriously needed Dark Souls III time.
