My joystick always stays as second control

1 year 8 months ago - 1 year 8 months ago #1 by alissongamer
In most games my control works normally, but in some it does not work, so I noticed that my joystick is being recognized as the second control (Player 2), for example in MUGEN or OpenBOR games it is recognized by the system as the second control (Player 2).
How do I correct this so that it is always recognized as the main control?

There is two things that can cause this. There is another control device plugged in, or the virtual controller didn't terminate properly leaving a ghost controller. I've started having the same problem using the nightly build of 1.7, haven't got around to sorting out the problem. Probably going to have to identify it in the device manager and remove it.

Just fixed my second controller issue. Go to the device manager and at the bottom of the list you may see a category, xbox 360 peripherals. Now if you don't have any controllers connected and one is listed there, that is your ghost. Just uninstall it and reboot your PC.

I noticed that the Wireless controller is the main one and so the emulated joystick of the X360 is secondary. But for how I use the DS4 and for it to be emulated I have to match it to later the program emulate as if it were of x360. Can you change the Wireless controller to be secondary?

You want both to be 1(they are the same controller), just do what I did above to get the 360 to be 1.

Check out how I got rid of a ghost controller in this topic. Thing is you want to have evey thing unplugged and turned off then check for any 360 devices. The "SCP virtual bus driver" should be listed in the system devices section if installed.
Also can check out my sticky topic it has some driver trouble shooting tips.
